Happy End | Solo show
09 Space for art, Netanya, Israel
Curator- Maya Kashevitz
2014
The first solo exhibition of Spector at 09 space for art contain representations of artificial depictions of nature, inspired by romantic cinema. Nature in Spector's hands goes through a process of death and revival, and axes such as real and fabrication, eternal and ephemeral are being dealt in aesthetically high end.
The mimic practice of scenography suggests a hint to the artist background as a props designer- with her usage of set construction methods while deliberately exposing the hidden.
Spector positions one's private emotional memory against a collective memory, that is based on cinema, media and popular knowledge.'
